<Poem>
<End Poem>
<Translation>
As the last of the sun goes into the hills in the west
I visit the solitary Buddhist monk in his cottage.
Where can he be among the fallen leaves,
As the road goes up through layers of winter cloud?
He is there alone, striking the chime for dusk,
Leaning easily on a bamboo cane.
With the universe in the tiniest speck of dust
What call can there be for me to love or hate?
